Detoxcellence for iPhone and Android · com.detoxcellence.app · updated 2026-10-09

The Detoxcellence app for iPhone and Android (com.detoxcellence.app) is published by Detoxcellence (detoxcellence.com), Helsinki, Finland. It has no account, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics and no in-app purchase.

What leaves your phone

The app makes one kind of request: an HTTPS GET to detoxcellence.com only, for the published Exposure Index export (/data/export/exposures.json), when the app opens. The request carries no identifier, token or user data. Like any web request it reaches our hosting provider (Vercel), whose standard server logs record the requesting IP address for a short period for security and operations. Nothing else is sent — not your answers, not your scores, not your reminder setting. Links you tap open in your browser.

Camera (Scan and room check)

The camera is used only on the Scan tab, and the app asks for camera permission only when you tap the scan target or Room check. A photo you take is read by an image model that runs on your phone (Google SigLIP 2, Apache-2.0), which names the things it looks most like; the photo is then deleted. No photo or camera image is stored, uploaded or sent anywhere, and Scan makes no network request. You can decline the permission and still search the index.

What stays on your phone

A copy of the Exposure Index, your recent scans (the names you chose and when — never a photo), your Exposure Score history (date, score, profile and your answers) and your weekly swap reminder setting. All of it lives in the app's own storage on your phone. Uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, or Clear history on the Score tab erases it. There is nothing to request deletion of, because nothing is held anywhere else. The app has no email form; the one on this website is separate and optional.

Notifications

The weekly swap reminder is scheduled by the app on your phone and shown as a local notification. There is no push server and no device token is created or sent. The app asks for notification permission only when you switch the reminder on; switching it off removes every scheduled reminder.

Permissions

Internet (to refresh the index), camera (only if you use Scan or Room check) and notifications (only if you switch the reminder on). No location, contacts, microphone, storage, health data or advertising identifier.

Health information

The app shows the Exposure Index — editorial ratings of avoidable exposure with the studies and sources behind them — and the Exposure Score questionnaire. It is information, not medical advice. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
